It remains one of the worst experiences because it's still largely based on outdated practices, such as relying on resumes and cover letters, which fail to capture a person's true potential, strengths, values, interests, and/or future aspirations. This leads to a frustrating and time-consuming process for both candidates and hiring managers, with a high risk (and rate) of mismatch and disappointment.
